Zero APR Credit Cards Do Exist

Zero APR credit cards are not a dream, they really do exist. The only catch is that the interest free period is for a fixed time. This could be from 6 months to a year depending on the type pf credit card and Credit Card Company. But there are no credit cards that ask for no interest whatsoever. There are quite a few credit cards with zero interest and one need to carefully study and compare them before committing to any one of them. Choosing a balance transfer card that offers rewards as well would be advantageous.

Use Of Zero Interest Credit Cards

Whenever you use your credit card to pay bills, an interest is charged. Thus if you accumulate your credit car payment by paying only the minimum amount, you are likely to end up paying more than if you had used cash. Some credit card companies offer zero APR which means that there are no charges levied on purchases done in a specified time period. Due to increase in competition, many card companies offer almost a year of free APR.

Zero APR credit cards are beneficial if the balance amount can be paid within the time frame. But if there is an accumulation of credit card balance, when the zero APR term runs out, the interest rate levied would be high since the interest rate is always on the rise.

When To Avail Zero APR

If you are planning to make numerous, one-time purchases, then zero APR would be very useful. For example, your moving expenses or plans of buying new furniture. If you use a normal credit card you will have to pay interest and payment but if you open a new zero APR credit card, you can repay back within a year and also do not have to pay any interests. Once the balance is paid off the credit card can be cancelled.

Another appropriate situation for using zero APR credit cards is while on a holiday. You can spend without guilt and have a nice time which can be paid back within the stipulated no interest time period. This is a good way of saving money on interest. Even during emergencies, these credit cards can be used to pay off medical bills, car repairs and so on.

You can even perform the transfer of funds from existing credit cards to zero APR cards. These involve balance transfer fees which in reality might take the purpose of transfer, that of saving money, away altogether.

Like any other regular credit card, zero APR credit cards also should be selected after research and shopping around. There are plenty of good credit cards with good terms and conditions out there for your perusal. Go through them with a fine toothed comb and select a zero APR credit card that suits your needs and requirements and saves interest as well.
