AFTRA Board Oks Merger Plan With SAG

New York, January 30 (FinanceEnquiry.com) - The National
Board of Directors of American Federation of Television and Radio Artists
(AFTRA) has accepted the proposal of merging with Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
Over 94% of AFTRA board voted in favor of the merger at a video conferencing
meeting of board members in Los Angeles and New York. SAG National Board of
Directors also approved the same merger package with a vote of 87.1% - 12.9%.

The merger package includes the merger plan, dues and finance
structure, membership requirements and other basic attributes of the successor
union, such as the proposed name for the new union, which is SAG-AFTRA.

The merger plan follows two years of negotiations between
both the groups to join forces, aiming to get more control in agreement
negotiations with producers. The National Board resolution of AFTRA will provide the survey material to be mailed to the Federation
