New York, January 29 (FinanceEnquiry.com) - BP (NYSE: BP) officials were apprehensive on the day the Deepwater Horizon sank of crude oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico at the rate of 3.4 million gallons a day as the well was not protected by the blowout preventer. The actual amount of spillage, however, was a million gallons less a day, as stated by the government. BP
