Bridgepoint To Buy Quilter From MSSB

New York, January 24 (FinanceEnquiry.com) - Bridgepoint Capital, a London-based buyout firm, is buying U.K. brokerage firm, Quilter Holdings, from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (MSSB). Financial terms of the deal, which may close in the first quarter of 2012, have not been disclosed.

The transaction will strengthen MSSB's focus on the core businesses of wealth management, such as the high net worth market segment of Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Quilter, which is owned by a joint venture between New York-based Morgan Stanley  (NYSE:MS) and Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C), manages funds of different charities, trusts, personal clients and pension funds. It has funds of around 7.6 billion pounds.
