Chevron Corp (NYSE: CVX) was founded in 1879 at Pico Canyon, north of Los Angles now headquartered in San Ramon, California.

The company, through its subsidiaries, globally engages in petroleum, chemicals, power generation and energy operations. The success of the company was driven by people and their unrelenting focus on delivering results the correct way.

Chevron has earned its strips as the second integrated oil company in the U.S., behind Exxon Mobil. It has recorded the reserves of 10.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent and a daily production of 2.8 million barrels of oil equivalent.

The company is restructuring its refinery and retail businesses to cut costs. It owns 8,250 gas stations in the US, whereas outside the US it owns 11,300 gas stations. A global exploration and production enterprise in 2011, Chevron, has acquired Atlas Energy in a deal valued at $4.3 billion.

Being active in approximately 180 countries, Chevron Corporation was named as the sixteenth largest public company in the world by Forbes Global 2000 and has been continuously ranked as one of the America?s 5 largest corporations by Fortune 500.
