‘Dark Knight’ Conquers the Top Position Again

New York, August 6 (FinanceEnquiry.com) – The final Batman film, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ has topped the box-office ratings again this weekend and has made its place safe on the No 1 spot for the third consecutive weekend.

This weekend, the movie earned whopping $36.4 million. Since its release date on July 20, Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy has raked in $354.6 million. During the premiere of the movie a gunman shot 12 people leaving other 58 wounded. Analysts speculated that the movie might fail to catch audience post shooting incident. Though, even the midnight massacre tragedy could not stop Batman lovers from watching the last Batman film

The second position has been secured by ‘Total Recall’ which has garnered $26 million. The movie collected $2 million below the expectations. ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days’, the  live-action family film which has been third on the charts earned $14.7 million in-line with the expectations. At fourth position the cartoon movie ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ stand tall with $8.4 million, followed by the ‘The Watch’, a comedy movie with $6.4 million.
