In a research note published yesterday, the analysts mention that the S&P 500 index and the Dow Transportation index ended the week up by 2.0% and 2.4% w/w, respectively, as the markets post their strongest YTD gains since 1997.

With inline and improving macro sentiments, the tanker, dry bulk and container universes outperformed the broader indices reported gains of 4.2%, 5.5% and 6.2%, respectively. The analysts indicate that share performance had mixed biases toward spot or fixed exposure within each sub-sector.
