NEW YORK, February 1 (FinanceEnquiry.com) - Standard & Poor’s Rating Services increased rating of HealthSpring Inc. from ‘BB-‘ to investment grade of ‘BBB-‘on completion of its acquisition by Cigna.

In a research note published on January 31, S&P’s Rating Services mentions that apart from upgrading HealthSpring's rating three-notch, it has also removed the rating from CreditWatch, where we placed it with positive implications on Oct. 24, 2011. In addition, the rating from CreditWatch is removed and a positive outlook has been assigned. S&P also took back all the debt issue ratings on HealthSpring, since all of its debt was completely paid back as part of the acquisition.
